In an exclusive interview with Fast Company, the “Call Me If You Get Lost” rapper opened up about his relationship with Abloh.
He admits that he was never a fan of Abloh’s designs initially and thought it was “gross.” He then went on to say that their relationship changed when Abloh started working at Louis Vuitton.
“I was so hyped. I was like, ‘Oh, he went there. A guy that looks like me did that. Fire’, he said.
Tyler also shared that when he decided to do Golf Le Fleur in 2019, musician Dev Hynes (known as Blood Orange), Solange Knowles, and Virgil Abloh pushed him to do it. Virgil not only encouraged him but put Tyler in contact with “people in Italy.”
Tyler ended the interview by saying he wished Virgil was here to see the launch of his brand and that he was “an angel.”
