A Cape Town attorney is facing charges related to sexual grooming of minors.

- The man, 36, was arrested last week after three children reported him to the police.
- He is expected to apply for bail next week.
A Cape Town attorney has been arrested over rape allegations involving three minors.
The attorney, who cannot be named because he has not yet pleaded, appeared in the Muizenberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The 36-year-old man was arrested on Friday.
Police spokesperson Noloyiso Rwexana confirmed the attorney had been arrested after three minors reported him to police.
“Three victims reported the case and one victim is 14 years. The suspect appeared in Muizenberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of unlawfully and intentionally engaging services of a child younger than 18 years for financial/other rewards, to perform sexual act with that child … whether it is committed or not.”
There was protests outside of court from community members from various areas who received wind of his arrest.
The matter has been postponed to 25 and 26 May for a bail application and further investigation.
