There is a ‘Krushak’ temple at Manijori village in Mahanga in Cuttack where an idol of a farmer is being worshiped for over a decade now.
According to sources, there is a ‘Krushak’ temple at Manijori village in Mahanga in Cuttack where an idol of a farmer is being worshiped for over a decade now.
The idol which looks like a typical farmer with traditional farming equipment is worshiped by hundreds of devotees at the temple, sources said.
A special puja was offered at the temple on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya today that marks initiation of season’s agriculture works, Chandan Yatra and Rath construction.
“A special puja was performed at the temple abiding by all the Covid-19 norms. The puja marks the initiation of season’s agriculture work,” said a devotee.
“We worshiped ‘Krushaka’ god seeking his blessings for a good harvest this season,” said another devotee.
“The temple was established in 2005 as mark of respect to farmers. Apart from good harvest, today, the devotees also prayed for the world free of Covid-19,” said founder of the temple.
