Doctor Strange 2 trailer teases Clea
From the first Doctor Strange 2 trailer, included as the end-credits scene to Spider-Man: No Way Home, it was clear that Rachel McAdams’, Christine Palmer, would be going on Stephen’s multiverse journey with him – alongside America Chavez.
The second trailer, however, teased more for McAdams than just being the love interest, as another variant for her to play was introduced.
We saw at the beginning of the trailer that Christine was getting married to someone other than Stephen. However, later on in the trailer, we see McAdams accompanying Strange into the Multiverse wearing a more sorceress-ready outfit.
Clea juggles romance and the Dark Dimension in Marvel Comics
Born to the ruler of the Dark Dimension, Prince Orini, and Dormammu’s sister, Faltine, Clea is the self-professed “Sorcerer Supreme of the Dark Dimension”.
After Strange piqued her curiosity, Clea followed him back to Earth after his conflict with Dormammu, preceding a series of altercations with the dreadful foe who had her banished.
After Dormammu was defeated by Eternity, Strange offered Clea to come live on Earth and train at Kamar-Taj to start a new life. Despite Clea’s feelings for Strange growing stronger combined with her help aiding the Defenders, she decided to return to the Dark Dimension to rule over the people of her realm who wanted to see her reign.

Fans believe Rachel McAdams is a Clea variant
Thanks to a couple of isolated shots of McAdams wearing a monochrome costume and seemingly being a part of the multiverse chaos, fans began speculating that McAdams would be playing Clea from another universe.
Another fan tweeted the Doctor Strange 2 poster, featuring multiple fragments containing variants and potential spoilers. One fragment shows McAdams as Christine in her bridal dress, while the other shows the actor as a different, more superior, and confident character, whom they believe is Clea.
In addition to McAdams being a contender for Clea, other fans have speculated that Charlize Theron will turn up as the sorceress during the end-credits scene – on the back of rumors stating that the actor has signed on with Marvel.
